Mrs. Sage's Guidelines

·         Choose one of the Indians mentioned in the SOL above.

·         Make sure your speech covers the region your Indians lived in, the way they traveled, the food they ate, and their shelter.  How did their environment affect the way they traveled, the food they ate, their clothing, and their shelter?

·         Speech should be 3 minutes in length.

·         Visual aid should be a model of your Indian tribes home that you have constructed.   Be able to tell how the environment had an effect on the type of home chosen by the Indians.

Your child has a green handout called Smyth County 4-H Public Speaking Guidelines.  It goes into more detail about how to deliver a speech.   The one change is that your child will do their speech on one of the Indians mentioned above.  The topic has been chosen for them in order to make the activity go along with our SOLS.
