Dear Parents,

We have been studying families in school, and we’d love to have you participate in our family tree project!  To begin, have your family pick an item that grows on trees, such as a peach, a cherry blossom, an apple, or a walnut.  The chosen item should represent our family in some way.   Then on the back of the tree, write and complete this sentence.  “We are a ________________ tree because ______________________.”  Have each family member make one of your chosen items (peach blossom, etc.) to glue to your tree.  You are encouraged to decorate your family tree using a variety of materials.  Don’t forget to put your family name on the front of the tree.  Please return the project to school by September 28.  Thanks for helping to make school a fun place to be!
